17th of February, 2008 - Every Chance I Get

Hope all is well with each and every one of you this Lord's Day. The Commander is working on our website. He just called and said he hoped to have it up and running in a couple of hours so I decided it was time to get busy on this Sundays lesson. First don't forget to pray for those who need it.

On a brighter note it sounds like our reunion is going to be the biggest and best ever when talking to the Killer he said he didn't think he even knew 50 people.lol Iowa is small. You guys are doing a great job I'm so looking forward to being with you again. You know I'll be there good Lord willing. And "every chance I get" because I am a 13th Congoleese. Now life has shown you I didn't make all of the reunions we had during my lifetime, but it wasn't from a lack of desire.

I go to church "every chance I get" not just to Martinsville where I preach but church where ever the gospel is preached and the saints are gathering. Why?  For the same reasons I'll go to the reunions of the 13th Congoleese because I am a part of the Church. You see the Church does not save you. The gospel is God's power unto salvation Rom 1:16 and the blood of Christ washes away our sins Rev 1:5 through the faith and obedience in baptism Col. 2:12 then the Lord adds to the Church (His universal Church) daily such as should be saved.

That's right if you have been saved you have been added by the Lord Jesus Christ to his church Matt.16:16-18. There is no exceptions in died to save you and he died for the church Eph.5:25 . No one voted on you , you had no choice or part in the matter.  The Church does not save it is the saved.  So every chance I get I (being saved) gather with the saved to praise my Lord and learn more of him and his ways and remember there will be a day you want to be gathered together with the saved.

May the Lord bless You All,

Chaplain Tex
