Good morning to all
in five weeks we will do this in person. I am so looking forward to that
day when we all get together again. Missing last years was a big let
down for me and mine nevertheless I am so thankful that the good Lord
seen fit to take care of my brother I'll never complain not even a
little bit. Fellows brother Hick's family needs our prayers his
brother-in-law has been given but a short time to live. Pray for his
physical healing, because God likes to do the impossible that’s about
the only way he ever get's the credit he deserves so don't count that
out. But then pray for his soul and the heart's of his family. Now as
Hick's brothers we need to all call him which includes me.
Hebrews 11:1-40
teaches us what it is to have a saving faith. Romans 10:17 tells us
where a saving faith comes from "faith comes by hearing and hearing
by the word of God" that's the only way we can develop a saving
faith because that's the only way we can know if the faith we have
developed is in accordance with or (well pleasing to God) is if God's
word has approved it. Quickly I’ll show you what I mean in Genesis
chapter three the story of Cain and Able one worshipped right one
worshipped wrong if you put the teaching of Romans 10:17 coupled with
Hebrews11:4 “By faith Abel offered" then we understand that God
spoke to both men at some time about what he wanted in worship one
listen the other did not the one who did is accredited with doing that
which is right by faith.
Faith does
definitely save us. It is absolutely essential Hebrews11:6 "But
without faith it is impossible to please him" Jesus said in Mark
16:15-16 “He that believeth and is baptized" Acts 8:35-38
when the eunuch asked about baptism Phillip answered "If thou
believest with all thine heart thou mayest.” Hebrews Chapter 11 is
story after story of what people did by faith. Most people today hide
behind their faith being saved by their faith is their reason for not
doing something. Let your faith lead you to obey God in all things.
That will be a faith that saves you from his wrath to come. Chaplain
