October 28th, 2007 - In The Beginning

Good Morning, to you.  Powerman's Mom went in for her test on the 9th.  They plan to cover the results on the 19th. So keep them in your prayers. Natalie’s back at home and my Mom making plans to move home. My test for insurance is scheduled on the 4th of Dec. Thanks to the Butcher, I have been given the opportunity to go to work for Modern Woodmen of America. I certainly am thankful for this fine opportunity it will be what I make of it. You can bet I’ll spend some time in power praying for all. I want to encourage each of you that receive this early edition to go to the website 13thcongoleese.com to read the final edition. The Commander does an excellent job of correcting the spelling and the grammar that is much needed on most occasions.

It's a week early for a thanksgiving lesson, so I draw your attention to Genesis Chapters 1-3

Go ahead and read them now. I'll wait…

The first point made - God is responsible for all life. That's the primary point he wants you to understand and without him there is nothing.  John1:3 “All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made."  Acts 17:28 "for in him we live, and move, and have our being" It is a dangerous idea and concept to think He created a big bang and evolution took over. Not only because it is wrong, but because it leaves at least the idea (that is seed for thought) that their might not be a God or that it might not be the God of the Bible. The Bible is written so that we might believe. Ultimately, you have to choose between man's many theories or the Bibles account.  There is and always will be, too many differences to reconcile any theory of man for one reason and one reason only God wants you to believe or not believe as me - I'll believe.

Second point He wants you to believe He did it in six days and rested on the seventh. Repeatedly through out your studies of the Bible, you will notice the inspired writers make reference to this as an example for us to follow. God worked six days rested one. Six days for you and yours to get all you can get to be all you can be. Then one day of worship and rest for the Jews it was to be just that way.  Christians start the week with a day of rest and worship. Use the Lord's Day for just such activities as worship, rest, family time and visiting the sick. Observing the Sabbath will refresh your soul as you get back in the saddle on Monday morning.

Third, God shows us how beautiful a life we can have without sin as we look at life in the garden. But by Chapter 3, we are introduced to Satan and ourselves. God made us free people to choose to do right or wrong. We are easily enticed to risk paradise and our lifes for a hope of something better. We are easily seduced for any empty promise that calls God a liar. We set around and hope someone will prove we don't need to go to church or be baptized or that you don't have to marry or that divorce for any reason is o.k.

Fourth, God shows us in Chapter 3 that the devil will lie and that He (God) does not play. Notice, Eve knows not to eat of the Tree of Knowledge, she knows God has said “eat of it and you will die.” Now, verse 4, Satan says "Ye shall not surely die."  Well, death is now a part of our lives. God would not only bring death into the world for them but declares in the New Testament that because of Adam all die. God doesn't joke with us. Now, before you get mad at Eve, which one of us can say we never did anything that God had told us not to do (SEX)?? or LIE when we needed to to save our hide. Eve just took what looked good and appealed to her sense of taste and a desire to be like God with knowledge. Most of my mistakes did not have such a noble quest. Adam gives the cop-out men have been giving for years when asked about his part verse 12 "The Woman thou gavest me" Making either Eve's fault or God's after all he was the one who made this creature called woman. Will fellows it didn't fly then and it want fly now or later.

In Conclusion, God is solely responsible for our very being. He made the world in six days and said enough is enough. We to have to place some limit's on the things we do and take the time to put our priorities in order - God, Family and Country. We need to recognize how easily we can be drawn in to disobeying God. How serious that can be. That we are without excuse. He's not taking the blame or letting you pass because someone else said it was o.k. If someone tells you it's O.K. to do what God said not to do, he is working for Satan.

Let us pray:  Gracious Heavenly Father, We ask You to look down on us with mercy and forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.  We pray that you be with the sick all the world over that is our duty to pray for.  We are mindful of those we have mentioned this day and we pray that You may be with the hands that minister to them.   That they might do the things they can to those in need to give them a reasonable measure of health all the days of their lives.  We pray also for our soldiers around the world that You be with them and help them accomplish their mission and return home soon and victorious.  We pray only that Thy Will be done on earth as it is in heaven.  That You give us the wisdom we need to accept Thy Decision in all these matters.  We pray for each us to meet our daily needs and that You continue to watch over us till we meet again.  In Christ’s name we pray, amen.
