Good Lord's Day morning
to you I use this opening line often it's my way of reminding you that
Sunday is the Lord's Day not yours. It's the first day of the week not
the last day of w weekend. So use it right for the Lord and you. The
commander brought to light some interesting facts about Obama. I do urge
you to get involved with the voting process like getting involved in
your own salvation you will need to do some studying of the facts first.
Before you can make a wise choice it is unfortunate we many time have to
just vote against someone instead of for someone. Thanks Commander for
the information. Don’t forget to pray for those recovering or under
treatment.
Luke 13:23-28
"Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said
unto them, Strive to enter in at the straight gate: for many, I say unto
you will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. When once the master
of the house is risen up, and hath shut the door, and ye begin to stand
without, and to knock at the door saying Lord, Lord, open unto us; and
he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are
.....Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity. There shall be weeping
and gnashing of teeth,.... and you yourselves thrust out."
Workers of iniquity
means without authority Col. 3:17 tells us that whatever we do to do all
in the name of the Lord which means by his authority now today that
authority can only come from the scriptures 2 Tim.3:16-17. Notice here
in our text today he said I know you not same type ending he gave in
Matt. 7:21-23 what I normally refer to as the saddest scriptures in the
Bible where he tell people that had done many wonderful works in his
name to depart from him ye workers of iniquity I never even knew you.
Two points will be perfectly clear if you will take the time to read
Matt.7:21-23 first it's not a matter of doing good works it's a matter
of doing the works that God has ordained and secondly being recognized
by the Lord as one of his is not only important but it does not come
just by saying Lord, Lord or by acting on your own.
My conclusion is that
becoming a partaker of Divine grace is first and foremost important and
that may not be as easy as Billy Graham says so. Secondly, before I give
credit to Lord for my good work I need something higher up then me and
my friends to ok it. I need book chapter and verse for it. Then and only
then is it a work of God. Chaplain Tex
